BRAD Pitt and Angelina Jolie have taken the unprecedented step of issuing a statement declaring their relationship remains strong. The Hollywood glamour couple have been forced to deny repeated stories on the internet that their three-year relationship was over. “The stories are absolutely not true,” Jolie’s spokesman told the Entertainment Tonight network in a statement. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton wrote: “There is an unsubstantiated rumour floating around today that Brad and Angelina have broken up”. Jolie recently gave birth to twins, Knox and Vivienne, the couple’s fifth and sixth children. They are also parents to Maddox, 7, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2. Last week, the celebrity power couple - often collectively referred to as Brangelina - were named most powerful actor and actress in the world in the 2009 edition of Guinness World Records, taking over from Tom Cruise and Jennifer Aniston. Pitt, 44, has often spoken of his wish for a “football team”-sized family, but recently indicated he had been struggling to cope with his fast-growing brood, saying: “Sleep is something we long for, but that’s all right.” Jolie, 33, told Marie Claire magazine: “Mummy and daddy need to try to figure out more time; we’re working on it. “Right now, we’re not great about mummy-and-daddy time.” Pitt and Jolie have undeniably spent a lot of time apart since the birth of their twins in July. Pitt has been promoting his latest film, Burn After Reading, at the Toronto and Venice film festivals, while Jolie has been based at the couple’s villa in France. After denying the split, Pitt and Jolie reportedly reunited for a “big, happy” family breakfast at the villa. Taraji Henson, Pitt’s co-star in the upcoming film The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, says the actor is an amazing father. Henson said Pitt made time for his children while filming the movie in which his daughter Shiloh makes a cameo appearance. “He had one kid every day, one-on-one.
