Hollywood star Brad Pitt is paying tribute to the hurricane Katrina affected New Orleans by having a tattoo of it on his lower back.

Contactmusic.com reports that Pitt was seen showing off his new tattoo, but many couldn’t figure out what the black lines and boxes represented.

Some speculate that it could be markings inspired by a map of the levees in New Orleans, which was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Pitt has bought a home in New Orleans and is working hard on a major re-housing project in the city.

Brad Pitt has denied rumours that his Hollywood neighbours want him to move.

Animalnewyork.com claimed that residents in the gated community of Franklin Village are “outraged” by the constant presence of paparazzi.

They have reportedly organised a group to encourage the actor to take partner Angelina Jolie and their four children elsewhere.

However, Pitt insisted that he has always maintained a good relationship with people living nearby, telling the New York Post: “This is the first I’ve heard of this, which tells me it’s mostly not true.

“I have lived and worked in the same location off and on since 1995 and have never had any problems with my neighbours, only paparazzi and those who peddle in sensationalism.”

The Brangelina brood has hit France, scouting locations for its next big project: Baby-delivering.

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and all four kids are holed up in Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen’s Villa Maryland in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat on the French Riviera.

The family arrived early Monday night via private jet at Nice airport with two nannies and three security guards says an onlooker.

As E! News first reported last month, Angelina is due this summer and plans on having her baby in France.

“It’s a breathtaking villa with views out over the Mediterranean [Sea] and they have roughly 12 staff on hand at all times to get them anything they need,” says a source.

“They’ve stayed there before and love the house, it’s very private and no one can see in.

Rumors are floating that Brad Pitt may be one of the buyers connected to the purchase of a wildly-designed new eco-home in Cotswold, England. The architectural plans and site for the building were recently sold for just over $14 million.

The design — which is based on a bee orchid found on the reserve where construction will take place — is expected to produce more energy than it uses, with an underground heat pump, geothermal heating and cooling, rainwater and solar and wind power. For the cash, the new owners (in about three years) will get a lakeside home complete with a glass-sided badger set in the garden. What exactly is a glass-sided badger?

Apparently, Pitt has taken a look at the plans for the Orchid Home — and sources are reporting that the anonymous buyer is connected to the entertainment industry. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s families are eager for the pair to get married.

Last week, the internet was abuzz with rumors the pair had tied the knot, and when the news reached the Pitt family, they had their hopes up for the reports to be true: They weren’t.

“The whole family is still keeping their fingers crossed that someday they will tie the knot,” a source close to the family tells OK! magazine.

Pitt’s mom, Jane, has warmed twice-divorced Angelina, 32, to the idea of marrying Brad, but she subscribes to the mantra of “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.”

“Jane has a really hard time with them not being married,” the source says. “She feels that they need to be married for the kids.”

As for Brad, the actor “would love to marry her but doesn’t want to force her, and I’ve never seen Brad so happy.”
