Brad Pitt To Star In New Film “The Lost City Of Z”

Brad Pitt will be starring in another soldier role in a new film entitled “The Lost City of Z.” The actor is also set to produce the Paramount book-based film.

The film is based on the non-fiction book by David Grann, which will be published in April by Doubleday. Pitt will produce the film through his Plan B production company.

He will be playing Percy Fawcett, a British soldier and spy who became obsessed by the idea of an advanced civilization in the depths of the Amazonian jungle he called Z. Fawcett, along with his son, headed into the jungle in 1925 in search of the mysterious Z and was never seen again.

James Gray, who will direct the film, told Variety, “This is a terrific opportunity to do something entirely different for me. It is a story that will be told with an epic scale, with a main character who is larger than life.”

Pitt is also filming “Inglorious Bastards,” where he will be playing an illiterate hillbilly who puts together a team of Jewish-American soldiers. He will next be seen in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” on Christmas Day.

Brad is Officially an Inglorious Bastard

Brad Pitt has officially signed on to star as Aldo Raine in Quentin Tarantino’s World War II film Inglorious Bastards. The story follows a group of of Jewish-American soldiers, lead by Pitt’s character - a Tennessee hillbilly, whose mission is to take down a group of Nazis. Pitt will join Eli Roth as Sgt. Donnie Donowitz, and B.J. Novak, who is in talks to play PFC Utivich. Simon Pegg and David Krumholtz are also in talks. The film will begin production on October 13th 2008 in Germany.

Quentin Tarantino Wants Brad Pitt for His Next Movie

According to DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com, the director, 45, is in talks with Pitt, 44, to star in his next film, the World War II action tale Inglorious Bastards.

It centers on a Dirty Dozen-like group of soldiers behind enemy lines.

Shooting on Inglorious Bastards begins in October.

Brad: ‘Lost City of Z’

Brad is to produce a new action-adventure movie about the hunt for a lost city in the Amazon.

The David Grann manuscript is based on the real-life search for a lost city in the Amazon and Pitt is set to produce the film through his production company Plan B.

According to Empire, Pitt will play the lead role of Col Percy Harrison Fawcett, the explorer who disappeared in 1925 while searching for the mysterious city.

The book, based on Grann’s September 2005 article in the New Yorker, will be published next February.
