Pitt, Portman team for ‘Important Artifacts’

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman have been tapped to star in a romantic comedy, says Variety.

Paramount emerged with the rights to Leanne Shapton’s book Important Artifacts And Personal Property From The Collection Of Lenore Doolan And Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion And Jewelry after a heated bidding war.

The book is presented as an auction catalogue with more than 300 entries charting the four-year relationship between photographer Hal Morris and New York Times food columnist Lenore Doolan. Shapton uses items such as clothes and emails to illustrate the pair’s romance.

Portman, who will serve as a producer through her Handsomecharlie Films company, took the book to Pitt, who agreed to star and produce with his Plan B firm.

Brad Pitt To Star In New Film “The Lost City Of Z”

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Brad Pitt will be starring in another soldier role in a new film entitled “The Lost City of Z.” The actor is also set to produce the Paramount book-based film.

The film is based on the non-fiction book by David Grann, which will be published in April by Doubleday. Pitt will produce the film through his Plan B production company.

He will be playing Percy Fawcett, a British soldier and spy who became obsessed by the idea of an advanced civilization in the depths of the Amazonian jungle he called Z. Fawcett, along with his son, headed into the jungle in 1925 in search of the mysterious Z and was never seen again.

James Gray, who will direct the film, told Variety, “This is a terrific opportunity to do something entirely different for me. It is a story that will be told with an epic scale, with a main character who is larger than life.”

Pitt is also filming “Inglorious Bastards,” where he will be playing an illiterate hillbilly who puts together a team of Jewish-American soldiers. He will next be seen in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” on Christmas Day.

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Finally I add the theatrical posters for David Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The backwards text and logo is clever to the film’s story of a man who ages in reverse. Enjoy the pics!
