Brad Pitt to Play Jewish Solider

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Pitt has signed on to play Aldo, aka “Aldo the Apache,” in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming World War II film, “Inglorious Bastards,” about a handpicked group of American-Jewish soldiers who kill Nazis in brutal and violent ways in order to undermine the Third Reich. Pitt’s character has “the Apache” moniker due to his signature move of scalping Nazi soldiers.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the film features “vintage Tarantino moments,” such as “the director’s now-classic use of the Mexican standoff, in which multiple characters are at an impasse pointing guns at each other.”

While the screenplay is not perfect, “even the mistakes are entertaining,” said one insider who read the script.

The cast also includes Simon Pegg, Eli Roth and B.J. Novak. Rumor has it that Tarantino is in talks with Mike Myers, David Krumholtz and German actress Nastassja Kinski. (more…)

Inglorious Bastards

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Quentin Tarantino’s uberviolent WWII project Inglorious Bastards has finally found its star — and its home.

Reps for Brad Pitt confirm that the prolific father is in negotiations to play Lieut. Aldo Raine. (A source says rumors that Tarantino is also courting Leonardo DiCaprio for the role of Col. Hans Landa are false.)

After three weeks of very public negotiations — and after everyone with a Hollywood zip code has seemingly seen a copy of the script — sources say the movie will land at Universal Pictures. Dealmaking has been handed off to the studio’s lawyers, and while nothing is set in stone, it appears that the studio will partner with Tarantino and producer/domestic distributor Harvey Weinstein to cofinance the film and handle international distribution.

Quentin Tarentino Flying To France To Meet Brad Pitt

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

As if Brad Pitt isn’t busy enough following the birth of his son and daughter, Quentin Tarentino is on his way to France to persuade the actor to star in his new movie.

Pitt is currently in Nice after partner Angelina Jolie gave birth to their twins, Vivienne and Knox, on Saturday.

And the Kill Bill director has arranged a meeting with the star in a bid to persuade him to be part of his forthcoming World War II movie, titled Inglorious Bastards, according to PageSix.

The film begins shooting in September.

“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” Trailer

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

The trailer for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is out today! Check out the movie’s trailer

The movie is about 80-year-old Benjamin Button (Brad), who is born aging backwards.

Director David Fincher said: “It’s dark, it’s romantic, and it also deals with mortality in a pretty unflattering way. Button is born in 1919 - with the film itself beginning in World War I, traveling around the world and carrying on all the way through to the year 2000.”

The film opens Friday, December 19.
