Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were in southwest Missouri this week for a reunion with the Pitt family. Their trip included a stop Wednesday at Arris’ Pizza in Brad Pitts’s hometown. The group included Pitt’s parents, Jane and Bill, their adult children, Doug Pitt and Julie Neal, and 11 grandchildren. Brian Keppy, Arris’ kitchen manager, said other patrons left the family alone. No one took photos or asked for autographs. Doug Pitt’s wife, Lisa, confirmed the family was left in peace and said that treatment is typical when Brad and Angelina visit Springfield. “We went to the movies last year when they came and people were just so cool. Even when we go shopping,” she said.

Rumor has it that Brad Pitt will be filming a commercial for the upcoming Super Bowl. The money that Pitt receives from filming the commercial will be donated to charity–Bono’s Red Campaign. Brad’s commercial for Dell Computers is set to air during the Super Bowl. Super Bowl XLII airs on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008 in case anyone is wondering.

Within the last month, Brad Pitt’s “Make It Right” project has raised enough money to build 65 homes in the hurricane-ravaged Lower 9th Ward. The program on Monday announced it is nearing the halfway point in reaching its initial goal of raising sufficient funds for 150 affordable, environmentally friendly homes. The average construction cost is estimated at $150,000 per house. Hot pink tents have been erected to represent the homes. Building is expected to begin this spring, with the goal of having some families back by the end of summer, a Make It Right spokeswoman, Virginia Miller, said.
